Savagnin is an indigenous grape of Jura. The clone planted by the domaine is Savagnin Jaune, a rare clone associated with Gewurtztraminer. This bone-dry white shares the aromatic notes of Gewurtz.
Soil: Limestone with high content of fossil, from Vincelles
Grape: Savagnin Jaune (an old variety also known as ‘Red Savagnin’)
Age of Vines: Planted in 1950
Annual Production: less then 2,000 bottles
Vinification: Direct press before fermenting and then aged for 11 months in 225-liter old oak barrels, before bottling.
