Collection: Veneto: Contrà Soarda

Contrà Soarda is an organic and biodynamic winery located on the Bassano hillside in Breganze, Veneto, Italy. The winery has a holding of 14 hectares of vineyard, all on volcanic soil (lava lapillus), mostly planted with a local white grape variety called Vespaiola.
 
Vespaiolo grape contains intense acidity but can be ripen to high sugar levels. In fact, the name Vesoaiola comes from “Vespa”, a reference to the bees and warps that are attracted to the sugary aromas of the grapes during harvest.
 
There are less than 20 producers of Vespaiolo in Breganze and Contrà Soarda is undoubtedly the best. Beliveing firmly in the age-ability of this grape, they became the first winemaker in the region to introduce the concept of a “late release” Vespaiolo: Vignasilan.
