As a family-owned estate, Domaine Pichat thrives on the steep, sun-bathed slopes of the region, where schist-rich soils and meticulous vineyard management yield Syrah and Viognier of exceptional depth and aromatic complexity. Renowned for producing wines that balance power with elegance, the domaine’s offerings are celebrated for their structured minerality, vibrant fruit expression, and age-worthy finesse. 

Domaine Pichat makes only 25,000 bottles of top class Côte-Rôtie wines per year from northern schist soils. All wines, including their "basic" Viognier and Syrah comes from their Côte-Rôtie vineyards. Les Grandes Places, one of the best vineyards in Côte-Rôtie, is a steep, rocky and windy vineyard which is rich in mica-schist with iron elements in the soil. The vineyard is south-east facing, ideal for producing full flavoured wine with good freshness.
