Collection: Papari Valley Winery, Kakheti Region
Nestled in the historic Kakheti region of Georgia, Papari Valley is established as a family farm and released its first commercial vintage in 2015. Situated on the slopes of the Gombori mountain range, the estate overlooks the fertile Alazani River Valley, with vineyards positioned 450–500 meters above sea level. This unique microzone benefits from layered alluvial-carbon soils, contributing to the distinct minerality and structure of its wines.
Papari Valley’s philosophy centers on preserving Georgia’s 8,000-year-old qvevri winemaking heritage while integrating sustainable techniques. The winery manages 9.3 hectares of vineyards, primarily cultivating Saperavi and Rkatsiteli grapes, and adheres to organic farming standards certified under the Green Caucasus programme since 2014. Innovations such as a gravity-driven, three-terrace qvevri system - the first of its kind in Georgia - highlight their pioneering approach. This method allows for natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts and aging across terraced clay vessels, ensuring minimal intervention and maximal expression of terroir.
As a participant in global natural wine movements, including RAW WINE fairs, Papari Valley has garnered a dedicated following among sommeliers and enthusiasts, furthering Georgia’s reputation as a leader in artisanal winemaking.
