Scarpa is well known for producing the best traditionist, and most ageworthy Barbera in the entire Piedmont region. They started to bottle their single vineyard Barbera, “La Bogliona”, in the 1960s. Located on soils with a high percentage of sand and magnesium (in Poderi Bricchi, Monferrato), the wine was aged in large botti with the same attention as a Barolo and Barbaresco.
